For pete's sake people please. all I see on this board is spamming and people insulting eachothers religion? can't we all have a serious talk without acting like 5 year olds? I have never blasted someone elses religion. you tell me about your beliefs and I'll tell you about mine. It's that simple. So why can't we just do it? Please stop the spamming.

Honestly, I couldn't agree with you more. If you've seen any of my questions, you'll see I've been making some effort to bring peace to the table. Surprisingly, I've been fairly well received by most.

The main reason I believe people can't get along on this topic is insecurity. If you're secure in your beliefs (as I am, and you seem to be), then it's easy to respect others and not sling mud. I, for one, have a thirst for knowledge that compells me to discuss these things with interest and respect. The peace I find in my own beliefs (I'm an atheist, if you're interested) leaves me without any quarrel with anyone who wants to share what they believe, even if they're telling me 'Jesus loves you anyway'.

Pleasure to meet you. :)

That's a good question that I know MANY people in here have been asking themselves.

The problem is that a select minority of Yahoo! Answers users are immature and like nothing but causing disruption and spreading slander. I believe in sharing our beliefs with each other, celebrating the differences and learning something new each day. I apply those beliefs into my relationship with my girlfriend. She is Catholic and I am Protestant. Despite our parents' snide comments and misconceptions, me and her get along great. We go to each others' churches, learning how each other celebrates faith and worships our Lord.

Thank you for being the voice of reason. Unfortunately, like whispering in a hurricane, your sound advice may not go far on here. God bless you, and may we all learn more about each others' experiences.

Ideally, we should all share our beliefs without any put downs on each other or each other's religions, but we do not live in an ideal world. I think the people who are very confident of their faith can do this, but there may be others who are not and live with insecurity on a daily basis and for their future. Their unsettled spirits may feel the need to vent here, but at least they are here to read about other's secure faith. Also, when you feel very convicted about your faith, it's hard to hold your Strong feelings in. Yes, we all need to be considerate and not use degradation to get our point across. For me, I may tend to get somewhat defensive of God/Jesus when someone mocks My Lord and Creator. I'm working on this because I know My Lord doesn't even need my defending Him. Paul in the Bible says if someone doesn't want to hear The Word of God, to walk away and dust off your feet. I'm dusting more these days, but I'm also very motivated to share my christian faith for searching hearts! We can all agree to disagree and be civil!! Thanks for the question.

It's my feeling that participants in THIS category ought to be able to conduct themselves with a little more dignity than those in the politics section.

I can't recall where I read it, but there was something about people being bored in Heaven, because they had nothing to argue about. Perhaps it was by Mark Twain...

If your beliefs are that strong, then you have nothing to worry about right?
