you could make a glaze:
2 tablespoons hot water, or milk or light cream
1/4 teaspoon vanilla, lemon or other extract,
or 1 teaspoon lemon juice or rum
1 cup confectioners sugar
Stir the liquid into the sugar, adding more, a few drops at a time, as needed. The icing is of the proper consistency when it coats the spoon.

1 1/2 cups of confectioners' sugar (that's powdered sugar)
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 to 3 tablespoons of water
Combine the sugar and lemon juice together in a bowl. Add the water until the icing reaches spreading consistency. Use more water to thin as needed.

How about melting a package of chocolate chips over a double boiler, add some half and half or cream, a little butter and stir. When cake cools, pour over the top and let it run down the sides. Top each slice with sliced strawberries and whipped cream.

I mix powdered sugar and water until it looks like icing, then pour it on the cake. Make it not too thin that it's watery and not too thick that it wont pour. You can even add food coloring for colored icing.

Really easy, take one box of powdered confectioner's sugar and one stick of softened butter or margarine, and one tablespoon of vanilla. Mix until smooth. Add food coloring if you like.
