I usually drink beer when I'm out for dinner, or will sometimes have a scotch/brandy. What's something else that's good? I don't really like martinis, but something along those lines would be alright. If you know of any good ideas, let me know the name of it and what's in it etc.

I would suggest a Tom Collins - it's gin and the special mix that goes with it that is a little on the sour side, but tastes great. You can also get a vodka collins. Or a Rum/Coke is great.

I love a whisky Old Fashioned.

They take a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry, just a half packet of sugar, and Angostura bitters and crush that in a glass. Add your choice of whisky, ice, and a splash of seltzer and shake.

It's delicious.

Red Snapper

Crown Royal
Amaretto
Cranberry Juice

Great on the rocks. Can also be served as a shot.

Try having a salty dog, it is made up of a mix of vodka, grapefruit juice and salt around the rim, you might call it a greyhound but where I come from it is a salty dog, yum...

Rye whiskey, neat (no ice) and water. The best rye whiskey is Old Overholt, but Jim Beam Rye is pretty good too. If it's mixed right it's slightly sweet and totally delicious!!!

beer and/or bourbon (boiler maker) is my favorite

for fancies maybe a good dry wine or gin and tonic, whiskey
sour, fuzzy navel (if you like apricots) - Margaritas are pretty
good too (if you like tequilla) - Long Island tea is liveable
