Trolls get 30 answers per question, instead of just being ignored. People who post insanely hateful questions get even more answers, instead of being ignored by us.

With that we feed the hatred, we even increase it. And we're all part of that, including me.

Yesterday a few people said goodbye to this section, today Laptop Jesus said farewell after being deleted again.

Would there really be this much 'report abuse button abusers' if we stopped feeding all the hatred on this website? I seriously doubt it.

So, what's the point of an online forum if the users together can't even filter out the bad elements?

hmmmm.

while you certainly have a point, this entire y!a community of sorts has a constant influx of new people. These people will generally fall in one of a few camps, and will react to any post. some stick around and become regulars.

Some have been deleted more than 10 times.

This section is reflective of real life. Religion and Spirituality, along with politics always causes irrational conflict. People will always be irrationally offended when their beliefs on the hereafter are challenged. We can see it time and time again in history. Maybe Yahoo should consider an 'Im Offended' button for this section so that everyone can see who has their feathers in a ruffle.

It is becoming clear though that certain groups of people are joining forces to abuse button others out of the section. It is a real shame, but they will continue because they are souless.

I think that for Yahoo, it was one of those things that "seemed like a good idea at the time."

It's darn near impossible to have a civilized forum unless its actively moderated, and Answers is virtually out of control.

Yahoo has their "Community Standards" which are followed by a small minority and scoffed at by a majority of miscreants and thugs; at least in Religion and Politics. Less controversial topics tend to be a bit more dignified in terms of dialogue and participation.

If Yahoo would spend the majority of their resources on these two areas, it would be a better place to post. You don't ask the inmates to run the asylum..

This is a tough question. Most people still rely on some kind of authority to cull out the opposing voice. If my account gets deleted, I will probably not be coming back. I heard someone who reached level 7 and got deleted. And the answers this person gave were not inappropriate.

How cute. Your all "yahoo internet friends"

If you would stop insulting each other and use what this forum is suppose to be used for then this wouldn't be a problem

I see nothing but "evidence of no god" "evidence of god" "why don't christians go to hell"

Is ridicoulous.. I thought this was a place to come and people would act like adults and answer...Instead it's a bunch of adults acting like children...Its ridicoulous...I won't be surprised when this Religion section is deleted completly...and then what..people who really wanted to talk about their belief's don't have it.
Act like adults...If you do not have a religion...go away...

Not call each other names, there's no reason for it...this person was probably writing offensive things..and got booted off
Oh well! Your not all buddies..this is the internet....

I agree.

I've only been on here since friday and it's just unbelievable of how so much hatred is in people.

I would advise people to start making a list of these trolls as you called them, and don't even go to there questions.

Some people are truly trying to find answers

after i see it's just some stupid question i don't answer.

We were warned about people like this.

If they don't care about there on lives, they sure don't care about anybody on here.

Jesus said, "the world would hate us, because it hated Him first."

Two words buddy:

Expendable Accounts.

Trolls! The troll accounts get deleted all the time! I could build a million of them, have them all deleted the next day, then build more! If its points you're after, this doesn't help much... but who cares? Your voice is heard.

Not every troll is an ********! Most of them are pretty funny!

Trolls sucker in the new people, and the ones who are not here often enough to sort out the serious questions from the attention starved.

Maybe Y!A should hang a sign warning to "Don't feed the Trolls!" when you first log-on.

Patience/Tolerance toward others who are different from us is the key to peace of mind !
Patience/Tolerance is defined as the ability to remain internally and externally calm in the face of harm, and difficulties in Life.
For me, this kind of Patience/Tolerance has been cultivated through Insight Meditation.

The bad elements which I wish to filter out, dissolve, and erradicate are not within Yahoo Answers Religion & Spiritual Section, but are within my own mind.

*The main purpose for me which Insight{Mindfulness) Meditation provides is the means to erradicate all unwholesome mental factors which "my mind" causes me, ie: anger, hatred, ignorance, greed, selfishness, clinging and attachments, all of which keep me from loving all people unconditionally {with Loving-kindness, Compassion, and in a Friendly way).
Daily practicing, and cultivating insight meditation, as well as loving-kindness meditation for others is very important to me, so I can love others unconditionally.

Yes, I am a fairly new Buddhist, who now has much purpose in life, peace of mind, and Happiness than ever before.
But Buddhism is not for everyone. And Buddhists do not think we are better than anyone alse. This is simply the path, way of life we have chosen. One must find a path which will bring them the most peace and happiness while respecting the free will of other human beings who are different than yourself.

*Thank You for giving me the opportunity to provide you with "an" answer to your excellent question.

With Metta.

maybe every ten minutes or so, someone should ask a question asking what did people think the most pointless and insulting questions were for that section of time. If it is controversial, it should be allowed, if it is hands down just stupid, it should be reported or handled, whatever you will.

Peace.
