Right.
The whole story makes no sense.
Don't try to understand it.

There was no need, because it didn't exist to them. Eve was tempted, and she took the bait.
Which was wrong, and then she became aware, of good and evil.
Ask yourself ,this. If your in a strange place, and you see something, that has your curiosity. But you don't know for sure if its right or wrong. to take it.
And someone comes up to you and says, its ok, It was left here by someone, years ago.
And you took the bait ,and took it. And then found out you, started getting sick or it changed you in some form or another.
How would you have known, if you didn't know, what it would do to you?. What would you have done?

good question... adam and eve had some knowledge in the sense that they knew not to do what God forbade... but it wasn't the extent of knowledge they obtained after they disobeyed God... the serpent told eve that God knew if she ate the fruit she would become wise and like God... not obtain knowledge of right and wrong... i believe there is a difference between good and evil and right and wrong... a three year old may know from his parents that fire is "evil" but he does not know that it is WRONG to play with it... he just knows that he gets in trouble with his parents if he does... he doesn't know why... i think it was the same way with adam and eve... they knew what would happen if they disobeyed their Father, but they didn't know why it was wrong... that's a very good question though, it really makes you stop and think... good luck finding your answer!!!

She clearly knew it was wrong. Genesis 3:2 shows us, when Eve repeated God's command, that she understood very clearly she was to follow God's command. This the early humans would have possessed, a respect for God's authority. She, however, chose against God deliberately, ignoring God's warning of death. Yes, the fact that God spoke of death to Adam & Eve shows that they understood the consequence. God would not leave them in the dark like that.
She doesn't necessarily have to have knowledge of good and evil, just understanding that God's way is right. She, however, saw that the fruit was pleasing to the eye and "good for gaining wisdom." In other words, Satan shifted her focus onto herself, rather than God, and this is where the problem began. She chose herself vs. God.

No. Adam and Eve were created as innocents and given one law to abide by.
It was Satan who deceived, thus a choice was made by Eve based on the information at hand.

I can tell my child not to touch a hot stove. They know I said don't do it, but they don't understand why. After they touch the stove, then they understand the difference between hot and cold. Adam and Eve knew God said don't eat of the tree, but they really didn't comprehend what the result would be.

Adam and Eve were told NOT to eat of the tree directly by God.
She chose to disobey God, to do something she was told not to. She was also lied to by the serpent, who basically told her that God was lying.
So she really didn't chose "evil" she merely disobeyed and opened the door for death and pain. Once that was done, Adam and Eve's eyes were open and they knew they had done wrong.

The tree of knowledge of good and evil represents God's righteousness.. It shows us that the law demands total righteousness and that all who fall short perish. The tree of life was also int eh Garden and it represnts God's mercy and Jesus Christ.

It wasn't a choice of "good" and "evil", but of loyalty and unfaithfulness. Either the followed God or they didn't. Whatever the moral value, they were breaking a relationship.

They were told by the final authority whom they loved, not to eat the apple. This was direct disobedience, and we all paid the price..........
It was a command, and that is NOT negotiable.

Because it is a flawed story. And back then if you doubted it they cried "witch" so intelligence was slowly weeded out of Europe.
That's why everything is made in China.
