Actually no-one knows for sure. But I thik that when your in heaven you will probably be what you truly are, but there are alot of other theorys like heaven is a peacful place were there is no harm but some people are actually very cruel mean and rude, and if you are that in your soul you go to heaven that way but heaven is sopposed to be peacful. So you wont know until ypu get there. Or there is really a hell. I dont know and not going to bothe thinking about it because any thing could be true.

Why are you so angry? I've read some of your other answers, wanted to have a private conversation, but NOOOOOO! Let's do this public!...

Anyway, to your question...
Every person has two parts- the physical and the spiritual. There are those who say the spiritual is a manafestation of the physical, but I say that the spiritual existed before the physical. Without the spiritual, the physical is just matter- atoms and molecules stuck together. Without a spirit to animate it, the body is dead.

So, yes, your spirit is the essense of who you are- your personality, your attitudes, your opinions, your preferences, etc... and I suspect that your spirit will also look a lot like you- height, coloring, maybe even weight, age, etc. And that spirit (aka- you) will exist whether you go to heaven or hell.

No, my soul is not the same as I know I am now. Reason being is that I have some more growing to do. So no, I will be better in Heaven.

Next question.

Why is the Church full of a bunch of Gnostic heresy? The Bible says absolutely nothing about us dying and going to heaven as believers. What it does say is that our hope is in the resurrection on the Day of Judgment, when all believers, past as well as living at that time, will be separated from the non-believers and giving the freedom to live eternally in the New Earth apart from sin and under the rule of Jesus Christ. In that, the idea is that we will have actual new bodies that are different from our current ones in that they will be glorified. Take Jesus for example. The Bible tells us that the disciples did not recognize Him when He first appeared to them after His resurrection, and that it wasn't until He spoke that they knew who it was. Our resurrection bodies, therefore, will be different from the current bodies that we have now, also because our current bodies are afflicted by the power of Sin and death, whereas our new resurrection bodies will not be affected by them because they will be destroyed, as the Scripture attests to. But, as for this idea of going to heaven, that is a Gnostic idea from the second century. The Gnostics believed that the physical world, and everything in it, was entirely evil, whereas the spiritual world is where all good is. Therefore, they believed in the separation of the soul and body after death, with the believer's soul entering into heaven and the non-believer's into hell. However, Gnositicism was declared a heresy by the Church during that time, which would make all of its ideas as false testimony about God, therefore making this idea of us believers having our souls go to heaven after we die a false idea about God. Your hope, as is mine and the hope of every other believer past and present, is in the resurrection from the dead, not in some mystical idea of the soul separating from the body and entering into heaven after we die.

Our soul is the breath of God that lives in us, which causes our very being.

When I get to Heaven, I'll be better than I am now. I will be made perfect in all areas.

I'm not even going to pretend to know the absolute truth on this. I believe that your soul is you in spirit form. I think that we will be a perfect form of ourselves in heaven with no sickness, sin, or blemish of any kind. This is what I believe and I do not claim this to be the only interpretation of ourselves in heaven. Either way, it's going to be a great place to praise God and sit and learn at his feet!

No, and yes. No because I hope to gain a lot more knowledge then I now have before I get to heaven. Yes, because it is still me! Everything that makes up who I am as a person is included in my spirit. I do think we take what knowledge we gained here with us.

our soul is what makes us who we are. and when I get to heaven i will have a glorified body and will not be capable of sinning. so i will be a (new) person in heaven.

yes, and basically yes.

in Heaven, some aspects of your soul will change, such as one no longer has lusts, sin is no longer present, and faith is no more (after the Earth's destroyed) as it won't be needed.
But as for talents/intellect/abilities....I guess they stay. We wouldn't want to be bored....but I think our "soul bodies" would become more like Christ's: able to pass through walls, food not being neccessary per-say, possibly flight, possible teleportation...
