If they are eating the same diet it is fine. 2 of my dogs share one bowl, and 3 of them share another..

sharing a water bowl is fine but sharing a food bowl, unless you're feeding them at separate times and watching to ensure there's no stealing is a problem. You'll be more likely to see fights over food or one dog pushing out the other dog if you have a shared food bowl. Best to have one for each.

if they were raised that way from puppies maybe .
Many dogs are opportunistic feeders. They find food , and eat it all very quickly so no one else can steal it. They only share in pack order. The dominant one eats what it wants and the other gets whats left.
Its probably best to have a bowl for each dog, and make sure they only eat from their own bowl.

They should have their own food bowls. Other than if one becomes ill it could possibly make the other sick, I see no reason for different water bowls as long as it's always filled with plenty of fresh water.
Besides the obvious, fighting and one not getting his fair share of food, dogs like to have their own belongings.

The dogs should have their own food bowls and should be fed on a schedule as opposed to "free feeding" them. The water bowl is fine.

I think as long as your sure both are getting enough food. We have ours eat from separate bowls at separate ends of the kitchen, so that we know who has eaten (they do leave the other's bowl alone).
We do allow them to share a water bowl... no issues.

I have 3 dogs and they each have their own food bowl, and share the water. That way I know what each one is actually getting to eat. It also helps if they take medication. (allergies) to be sure they get what they should have.

it would be okay for them to share the same water bowl but not the same food bowl, you have to remeber dogs get very angry over food!

My two poodles share the same food and water bowl and have never had any problems with it. I started with a separate one for them but they always wanted the other one's so I just got one bigger one and they did fine.

sometimes/often when dogs turn 2 yrs old they start to not get along as well ecspecially, if they are the same sex. Not all the time but sometimes. This is why you should give them separate bowls now to prevent problems in the future.
