Any ear cleaning is uncomfortable, especially if the infection is really bad. It will hurt more if you don't treat it. My dog used to get ear infections all the time. I recommend "Vet Solutions Ear Cleansing Solution for Dogs and Cats". Make sure when you do it, you put a small amount on a cotton ball, put it gently in the dogs ear (not to deep in there though) and very gently massage the ear. You should hear a squishy sound if you are doing it right. If your dog whimpers, do it slower.

go to the vet and do exactly what they tell you. A vet once told me that the most annoying thing people do is take their dogs in for ear infections, only follow the treatment plan they give them for a week or so then forget it. Then the poor dogs end up in pain again. So do what the vet says.

Have you taken her to the VET? That is the only way you can get anything effective. At least call them and get an opinion. She probably is in pain. How do you go about cleaning her ears? Ask the vet to show you the correct way.

I had a similar problem with my boxer and the vet told me I could use a small amount of warmed olive oil, pour it into the ear and rub it gently and then turn the dogs head over and let it dip out onto a clean rag.

I use just regular rubbing alcohol on a Q tip to keep my labs ears clean. I clean them about once a month, same time as I do my flea/tick stuff and give him his heartgaurd. But to get rid of the infection the vet will give you something to put in their ears for about a week or so.

you need to take her in and get an antiboitic and solution that they carry that will dry up the ear canal and only can get from the vet. My german shepherd is going though it too. It will hurt till the infection is gone.

sometimes vinegar mixed with water is the best thing. 3/4 water 1/4 vinegar. she may just not want to be touched there also if you have a cut on you hand would you want people messing with it even if it is for the good she still needs to see the vet A.S.A.P.

This kind of question drives me crazy. If your dog is not normal (throwing up, has serious eye/nose leakage, lathargic, weak, diarreah) take them to a friggin vet.
Don't waste time here waiting for answers.
If you have an inkling something is wrong go to the Vet!!!!!

You might want to consider switching to a wheat and corn free food as well as food allergies can cause ear infections.
