Today, I started a personal program of eating a clove of garlic per day which is recommended for reduction of high blood pressure. I bought 3 bulbs of garlic/AJO. The problem I encountered was that the garlic was super burning hot on my tongue. Is that normal or did I buy the wrong raw garlic? Any suggestions?

The concentrated garlic will give a bit of a burning sensation but it is nothing to worry about. Make sure you chew some parsley afterwards to freshen your breath, that or become a hermit ...

Garlic is garlic, certain meditteranean garlic is a little stronger on the tongue than others. Ajo is Spanish for garlic not a type. Do not eat it raw. This is what is causing the burning sensation on your tongue. Best thing to help lower high blood pressure is to cook all foods in Extra virgin olive oil and stay away from vegetable oils. To eat your clove of garlic is is best that you use some olive oil in a pan and slowly cook the garlic till it is soft then eat it with some of the oil. You will not loose any of the benefits. Also, use a colon cleanse every couple of months (go to a natural health food store not GNC to buy the colon cleanse it is a 5 day regimine) and also use a natural acidophilous (a natural digestive and intestinal beneficial flora) with LIVE active cultures with no less than a 2 billion active enzime cultures. To check the results start by taking your blood pressure before you begin the regimine and mark it down somewhere. Start your colon cleanse and start using only extra virgin olive oil and your garlic for the next 30 days. Then check your pressure again. You will see a definate change. Remember a high fiber (no white diet such as processed sugars and white bread - egg whites ok) will even be better. Talk to your doctor or local naturalist if you have questions or need some recommendations.

Don't worry, it is a common reaction.

However, if you do not wish the burning sensation to persevere, drink some water to go it down with or include them together with your meals.

Buy smaller garlic and do not chew it... drink it like tablets or capsules. Your stomach will do the work for you.
