Tell him the wedding was called off. Or, just tell him that the guest list got cut and the bride asked her to come solo.

The friend invited the guy to your wedding? Now she wants you to un-invite him?She needs to come out and tell him that she has changed her mind about taking a guest. That she called you to make you aware of it.Tell him she has decided to go solo.Just tell him.If he's freaky, it will show.Be careful......

She could just ask him why he's acting weird all of a sudden and to stop it.
In the mean time, also tell him the date's off, she wants to go alone.

You always can use any reasons for wedding, like no room, money reason, like white lies. Keep it simple and dont use too much reason to him.
