I do a lot of weird things:
I think that if I do not do something something bad will happen.
I touch everything I pass.
I re-type words that I spelled wrong in the first place.
I am scared of the numbers 5 and 11.
I am always scared that something bad will happen to my family, and I think that my actions will protect them. I know this is not true, but I do not know how to overcome it! Please help!!! I know there are some ways to stop these actions, but i need some thoughts that can make me feel better. Thank You!

Sounds more like anxiety. The MD can prescribe meds for it. Lexapro is a good one. If it is OCD then it is a problem when it interferes with your life and daily functioning. We all have quirks. It doesn't make you ill....just human. Mind over matter. You are in control of your thoughts. Read the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne or watch the movie. You have the power to change your thoughts. There is also nothing wrong with getting a little professional help when and if you need it.

Honey, you don't have a disorder, you just are a perfectionist. You need to sit yourself down at least once a day and tell yourself "Its okay to make mistakes. I wont become a worse person." BEcause i think that is what you are scared of: becoming someone you are not. And about being supersticious, its okay, but don't let it rule your life. Allow yourself to touch a number you have set for yourself a day, like, say, ten, then every week, decrease the number...and don't worry about a disorder. Thats the only way we get disorders, we make ourselves believe that we have them and our bodies reciprocate by giving into these beliefs.

You simple have to break the routines, replace 5 and 11 with 23 and 24, then change it everyday, for one example.

Its simply mental.

Well, I suggest, if you think your compulsiveness is severe enought, to get professional help. There are ways and therapies to diminish, if not eliminate your dissorder. You might want to search the internet and look into it also...

Go to a doctor. There is a group of antidepressants (called SSRIs) that have had really good success with OCD symptoms.
