Also, if they write the ticket for 5 miles under the speed they say they clocked you at, they can't change it to make you pay more can they?

Once... a state cop pulled me over for 5 over. I asked the judge to dismiss considering low traffic condition and clear weather. He waived fines and fees and put me under 30 days supervision.

Most of the time when I write a ticket for 5 under what I clocked it is my discretion. I may have put you in a lower fine bracket.

If you feel you will lose the go pay an attorney to have it changed to a non-moving violation. it will caost more than the fine but no points.

I really don't care as I wrote the ticket to put you on notice. I do show up on my court dates as that is my job. Unless there is something more pressing in the field.

sure i have, many factors to determine if the ticket will be reduced never had it dismissed.

Main one is how to do behave when the police issued you the ticket, the cop took notes, so if you where rude most likely forget about since the cops usually has to ok the reduce ticket

next go to the court on the date of the ticket see if you can talk to the prosecutor if none the judge, most times depending on how you acted combined with your driving record they will usually reduce the ticket

also if you show and the cop does not the judge can always post pone the court date to another date, cop know show does not equal a win for you

Yes. I simply showed the jury a print-out from the AAA that stated my vehicle could not go the speed that was indicated on the ticket. That was many years ago (1969), & I don't know if you can still do it that way! No, I don't think they can change your ticket once it has been issued.

This is what a lawyer friend told me to say: Yes, your honor, I was speeding but I was hoping that you could help me with the points.
Not only did he help me with the points but he helped with the money, too. Judges love people who aren't defensive and want to work with the system.

well if you get really lucky, the officer wont show up to your court and its automatically dismissed. if you show up and say that u were speeding, then there is no defense that can get u out of it, they have heard it all and most dont care... AT ALL
