Italy was the first to quit the Axis in September 1943 although pro-fascist elements remained loyal to the Germans.
Finland, Bulgaria, and Romania left the axis in 1944.
Hungary was compelled by German occupation to continue until Soviet conquest in march 1945. Fascist Italy (The Italian Social Republic) surrendered in April 1945 followed by Germany in May.
Japan held out the longest.

Mussolini's Italy. At first they thought they could snatch some easy pickings from defeated France. When they saw that was not going to happen they began to think maybe the Allies were going to win the war so they started losing interest. The Germans saw what was happening so they moved in and took over.
