Spray freshly washed roots with volumizing spray. I like Bumble & Bumble or you can try Aveda volumizing tonic .
If hair is naturally course or curly, work a straightening balm through hair. Here's a great list of balms .

Blowdry hair straight, starting at the roots to get extra volume. Hair must be completely dry for this look to work. Blow cold air at the roots to add volume (cold air locks in a style)

Separate hair into three sections, securing with a ponytail holder. (It's easier this way to curl your way through each section). To curl hair, use a 1-inch barrel curling iron. Starting with one section, take a 1-inch portion of hair and wrap hair around the barrel of the curling iron. (Wrapping hair is different from the traditional curling method. You don't want to 'clip' hair into the barrel. Wrapping allows you to curl all the way to the root). When you're curling, make sure to leave ends loose.

Release the curl after about 5-10 seconds (hold longer if you want a tighter curl). You should have a corkscrew curl.
Roll curl and bobby pin it close to the scalp. (I sometimes skip this step to save time).

Alternate the direction of the curl as you work your way through the section. (It's all in the direction you wind hair around the barrel of the curling iron. Start by placing hair on top of the barrel and wrapping around, then switch by putting the barrel on top of the hair before winding it around). Alternating directions makes curls look more natural.

Once pinned curls have cooled, release them.
Remove nozzle from dryer and gently loosen waves with cool air. You can also separate curls with your fingers, just make sure not to brush them out.

To add shine, spritz a hair serum . Or forego hair serum and spritz with saltwater spray. I like John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Waves Sea spray.

Set with hairspray. Just don't overdue it, you don't want new waves to feel 'crunchy.'
What You Need:
Volumizing spray
Straightening balm (if you have thick, course hair)
Hair dryer
A 1-inch barrel curling iron
Ponytail holder and bobby pins
Shine serum
Hairspray

Hey, well curlers always work to have loose curls/waves but there's also this trick that works:

Take a shower at night. After your hair is wet make tight braids (either 2-4 large sections or up to 10 if you want tighter waves..and it depends how much hair you have or how thick your hair is)..but you braid them and then put gel onto each braid for extra hold. In the morning unravel your braids and admire all the cute waves!

You use some mousse, hairsray and/or gel. Scrunch your hair when it is wet-or damp. Then rub some anti-frizz serum into the middle part of your head, trying to smooth it through the back(that's where everyone gets the most frizz). You could also try just leaving some good, deep moisture conditioner in your hair before adding the products(to keep your hair soft and secure from any chemicals). They also have non-chemical hair products--like hair salt,glue,putty-and you just twist and put waves wherever you like. Some good brands of products include Tres'emme- mousse, light hairspray...Thermasilk-mousse,gel... .L.A.Looks-extra curl(blue gel)..and of course one of my favs Garnier Fructis-FOR EVERYTHING...good luck-=)

well first off if you have un-tameable sort of wavy hair it helps....a way that i use is this...
1.) towel dry hair until no drips come out.
2.) Start scrunching hair with yoiur hands.
3.)add a little bit of hairspray or gell, and keep scrunching
4.) Scrunch some more, turning your head upside down and scrunching upside down.
5.) part your hair on the side, and scrunch a little more
6.) Add hairspray to the final product and your good to go :)

French braid you hair the night before after u get out of the shower and I personally do 2 fench braids going back while my hair is wet and then take it out the next afternoon. p.s. Make sure ur hair is completely dry before taking the braids out. I sometimes have to use a hairdryer.

Braid your hair when wet and let it dry that way, use a crimping iron, or sleep with hair in a loose bun or just scrunch up your hair when wet and put some gel in it.

You can Brade your hair a lot. Or you can by a waver, its like a hair straightener, but instead it makes your hair wavy. And it really works!
