Everybody has the freedom of expression, so they can say whatever they want to say. As for deciding on whether or not they are God, is quite simple. If they created, or can create the universe, they are God. If they did not, or can not create the universe, they are not God.
As for prophets, that is a title given by a community to a man they deem a worthy leader.
As for Jesus Christ, or I can say, a divine incarnation, the truth of this matter comes about from knowledge and not imagination.

The bible told us that in the end many false prophets and teachers would appear, why are you surprised? It's simply prophecy coming true.

I can only speak for myself, but my belief that I'm Jesus is based purely on faith. In my case I am Jesus, God and the prophets all rolled into one multiplinity.
