i like red too but in a small room it would be too much.i would try a pale or light yellow or even a pastel green,to bring in more color you can add a wallpaper border with a design you like that ties it all together,or for contrast if you have base boards around the floor and ceilings go with a centennial blue.i did this in my dining room it looks bright and sunny! good luck to you.

I would go halfway between the tan and brown, like a rich chocolate ice cream tan, as a good contrast but without being too risky.
I'll ask this, what is your favorite color? Be bold! If it's yellow, pick a beautiful yellow for the kitchen. Each room can stand on it's own. If you need a little seperation to do this, you might need a fake beam or a room divider.
Here's a great show that inspires you to add color according to your heritage or interest:

An foremost tip to keep in mind is that cool colours like blues, vegetables and purples push the partitions out. Warm colours deliver the partitions in. If the cupboards are in well form, I could depart them on my own. If no longer, high and paint them a coloration of the wall colour you decide upon. For instance, if you make a decision to color the partitions a inexperienced, paint the cupboards a darker sleek inexperienced. This would possibly sound abnormal, however you need to photograph the room as a complete. You would possibly grow to be opting for a colour for the cupboards that you do not like in any respect on its own, however as a complete room it'll seem fantasatic! It is foremost to enable the attention to transport always throuhout a small room. If you might have tons of colours in starking distinction, the attention gets careworn and quit at every one that allows you to in flip make the room think smaller. Replace cupboard hardware so as to add curiosity. You can discover extra recommendations and aid with colour right here.

What about a dark brown? Or maybe a maroon color (similar to red). I'm sure any color would look great except green.
