Just have a play date with some of your friends. My son loves to play so that was what we did. have cupcakes instead of cake that way everyone can have their own little piece and you don't have to deal with a big cake.

Whatever you do, do NOT go overboard. My wife rented a petting zoo for my son’s 2nd B-day and he remembers NONE of it. The pictures are great, but not worth the $400 for the party. Most children remember very little before the age of 4. Do something for yourself. I know that sounds selfish, but what I mean is… put yourselves in a setting that is great for pictures. Somewhere where she will smile a lot. This will provide you with a lot of great memories of her when she was at a very precious age.

No party heh?? Allow her to pick a place to go (her choosing). It can be to the museum, zoo, movies, park, whatever she wants. Just make a day of it ! If you are okay with taking some of her playmates along just give a call to the parent(s) and see what goes from there. She won't remember it, but you will.

how about something that you know she likes to do like soft play, going swimming or to the park, or just do something nice with Mummy! Perhaps take one of her friends with her. My 2.5 year old loves to go out to the coffee shop with Mummy as a special treat, she has a fruit shot ) and a cake if she's a good girl) and gets to sit in a big girl chair like Mummy does......
Do something she would really love to do......
Have fun! And Happy Birthday!

www.buildabear.com
take her to build a bear workshop
she can make her own stuffed animal and name it and give it a heart and dress it how she wants
pricing for this can be between 10 dollars for just a teddy bear to 25 for more expensive stuffies and 6-15 for clothes
these are worth it because if you have to wash them you can take them back to the store to get restuffed
if they get lost and returned to the store they are mailed back to you free of charge
get a small cake and sing happy birthday and get a couple other presents
if you want to go ultra cheap
go to dollar general they have some great stuff for her age

Bake her a cake, give her a present, and make her feel like the little princess she is. Get her a little tiara and take the princess out to eat at McDonalds or where ever she likes. Just make sure you give her the day.

birthday's for toddlers should be simple. they get overwhelmed too easily and they really don't understand what it's all about.
for my daughters 2nd birthday we made 2 cakes. one for her and one for the family (just mom, dad, sister, and grandpa and grandma). we let her have the one cake to herself and she had a blast eating it by the fistful!
