The Da Vinci Code is the idea that Da Vinci hid secret messages in his paintings.
Its said that his painting of the last supper shows Mary Magdaline to Jesus' right. This may well be true. The figure does look like a woman, however, as is argued by the art community, St John is ALWAYS painted in a feminine way.
There is nothing concrete at all about the Da Vinci code.
Not to say thats its all a lie, just speculation. There is no more proof for it than against it.
And just a word to the previous, The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail was based on another book. They claim Da Vinci Code stole their work, but it was not theirs to steal. And thats excluding the fact that many of the "facts" within the book have been proven to be completely false and unfounded.
For an interesting read, read Holy Blood and Holy grail. For a thriller, read Da Vinci Code. For facts, you'll be looking in the wrong place with both.

The Da Vinci Code is a book by Dan Brown, about cryptic messages Da Vinci left in his paintings about Christianity. No special glasses are needed, the Last Supper clearly contains a message sitting to the Jesus's right.

i'm sorry to disappoint but probably the only amazing thing about the mona lisa if the fact that it is probably the first portrait of a transvestite. like in most paintings there is symbolism, but only the painter can tell you what he actually wants to say, ask any expert and they will all have different answers. as for the de vinci code, i really enjoyed the book, but there is reason it is in the fiction section!

can't say i've ever heard that b4.
codes in da vinci paintings, yes knowing da vinci that's likely.
only accepted view of the Mona Lisa is that it is an effeminate version of da vinci himself.

Da vinci code is ok - purely fiction but entertaining enough. Angels and Demons is much better!

The DaVinci Code is fiction. Well-written, ingrossing, descriptive fiction, but it is fiction nonetheless. People are so anxious for mysteries and conspiracies, that they are willing to grasp at and believe wholeheartedly in those which have been fabricated within the pages of a novel.

This annoys me!!
IT'S A NOVEL!
If you wish to read about "conspiracies" like this then I recommend the Holy Blood and the Holy Grail, which is excellent, and includes facts and history.
I don't mean to sound awful but I would forget that book and read the one I said.

It has been a while since I have seen someone mix things up this thoroughly. To put an end to every question you have, and you have more than one or two, none of it is true.
