Doesn't work that way. Anybody who's driving has to carry insurance for the damage they do to other people. It doesn't matter what they collide with, they have to fix it.

However, driving a "junk" car (as you put it) saves THEM money. They're cheaper to own, cheaper to maintain, and cheaper to insure.

What's really sad is the people who go out of their way to have a cool car, and it's the only cool thing in their life. Spend $1000 to pay someone to select $3000 worth of furniture to make their house amazing? Never. Spending $500 to pay someone to recommend a $2000 wardrobe? Never. But spend $20,000+++++ on a car (by the time it's said and done)? Absolutely.

If I knew what you meant, I might understand how to answer you. What kind of "boo-boos" are you talking about? Scratches and dents, or actual collisions? And what the heck do you mean by "old people"?

No, they are probably buying them because their 'incomes' are too low to buy a much more expensive 'new car' ... and in our state (Washington) EVERYONE is REQUIRED BY LAW to have INSURANCE ...
