Well that would mean you are making $20 an hour, which for dog walking seems steep. Check out the minimum wage where you live and try to base your wage somewhere off of that.

I think that $10 is perfectly reasonable. Obviously you have to get to where the dog is, so you have to include that time too and you are also being responsible for the dog as well. If my dog gets away from a person I'm paying $3 are they really going to care enough to chase the dog down if it slips away from them? Honestly, if I had to depend on someone to walk my dogs I would be happy to pay that much if I found someone I could trust.

Professional pet sitters have insurance, bonding and necessary licenses to operate, pay taxes and professional dues, and have to consider around-trip travel time. Many have specialized training in animal care and emergency procedures.
In return, you have a trustworthy person who will know how to handle your dog and know what to do in an emergency.
So, I think $10 for a 1/2 hour walk wouldn't work for me. I charge $30.

i think that's fine. Don't have a dog, but I'm a busy professional, or because I'm a busy professional. It would be well worth $50 a week to have someone come by and do that for me. You'd have to be good with dogs, have your own transportation, be reliable. That'd probably work out to less than $20 per hour because you'd have your transportation and management time included in there. Good luck.

If you don't have to drive too far, it is the right price..Dog walking businesses charge $20 for walks a bit longer..
To those who say it is $20 per hour, not so! There is transportation and gas, or time to travel for each dog, so it averages out to much less.

That's what i pay my dog walker, she is just a student who helps me out. if you go to the real dog walking services, they charge $15-20 and sometimes it is only a 20 minute walk!

That sounds expensive to me... unless you are a professional in the business of course and offer your customers some sort of accountability for anything that happens while on your walks.

i would say 7$ to 8$ is a responsible amount for a half hr. 16$ and hour sounds pretty good.

Good Luck
