I graduated from high school 20 years ago, but I remember the cheerleaders from my school. I was jealous too, then I overheard them in the locker room and was shocked at some of the extreme measures some of them were using to keep that thin from starvation diets to 2 girls who were using cocaine! I sure wasn't jealous after that. I pitied them.

First of all, don't listen to your mother. She's completely out of line.

Secondly, Yoga is amazing for toning your legs and getting rid of little "pockets". It lengthens and strengthens your muscles, making you look more streamlined. It lowers your blood pressure and is just all around good for your body. It will also make you really appreciate your body and the things it is capable of. Believe me, nobody notices your flaws as much as you do. Confidence is the sexiest thing you can have. Just keep being active and eat healthy. Don't compare yourself to other people. The focus is on you and your healthy, beautiful self.

Try telling your mom to get a friggin' life. 16, 5'2", 115ish, you've got no problems whatsoever. Anyone who tells you any different (including yourself) is merely trying to infect you with a poisonous negative-body-image meme.

try side crunches (lay on one side with your arms just like they would be for regular crunches and lift striaght up on your side) and also try side leg lifts (again, lay on one side, legs straight, and raise and lower them at a controled pace). if you need to work on your inner thighs, do size leg lifts with your knees bent at a 90 degree angle.
