I always use a resealable sandwhich bag that you can buy in packs from any supermarket. I have travelled several times using this and have never had any problems with security. Don't forget there should be nothing over 100ml and that includes the size of the bottle you have put the liquid in. The only thing I take through security in my hand luggage is a small pot of vaseline for my lips. Everything else can be bought once you get into security and it's just so much easier. I am still amazed at the amount of people who try and get through security without having their stuff in a seethrough bag......... So good on you for making sure you are ok before you go.
