Go with your friends. Or if you have a guy friend, ask him to accompany you. Prom isn't just for dating couples. You can have just as much fun with your closest friends or a blow up doll (some one actually brought a blow up doll for his date one year).

Unless you go to a very small school, I know there has to be some other nice guy at your school without a date. Even if he is a "nerd" or something, work up some courage and ask that guy to go with you just as friends. If people make fun of you, just dont let it bother you and laugh it off because you will have been the bigger person and possibly will make a new friend with the class "nerd". Nerds arent that bad anyway. most are very sweet and funny too.
If there really is no other guy left on the planet who you could go with, you could just skip the whole thing all together, but that will be a sucky and pathetic story to tell your kids someday.
Before getting that drastic, you could also just go stag and decide to grin and bear it. I know that sounds sucky, but it is better than not going at all. If you are not having fun you could always leave early too. At least you will have a story to tell in the end, instead of having to tell your children someday..."So I just stayed home alone and felt sorry for myself."
Not having a date is not always the complete end of the world you might see somebody there to hang out with.

Try a platonic guy-friend first. Go as friends... it'll be cool and fun. No pressure. Boyfriend probably purposely acted a fool to avoid prom-season-... screw 'em! Anyway try a College campus, go to a college campus or nearby bookstore and ask someone to take you. Met them a few times, to build a rapport or some chemistry so the prom wont be your first date.
Or invite a handsome older cousin, or borrow your sister/friends/cousin man for the night. But I think college campus is your best bet. Find a bookworm, mostly likely he never went to the prom ... and play on him saying (wow my friends will be so impressed I found a college guy) will make him feel like "Da Man" before he even shows up.
PS...
Always have an "heir & a spare"... lol Whats a tux, rental? You can get the deposit back if there's a last minute cancellation.

why is prom such a big deal for teens? go with a group of friends. a month and a half is plenty of time to get a date (doesnt have to be a boyfriend) just cause everyone else has a date doesnt mean you have to be too. be a individual!! those years are the best time of your life, dont waste it on trying to fit in.

couldn't you go with your ex-boyfriend as friends or if you know someone from another school.
It would be more fun to go with a group of other girls and not worry about the guys.

well you still have a month and half... SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM... teenagers break up every 3-4 days so i'm shure you'll find someone WITHIN A MONTH AND HALF.
