I really like George Orwell and Lois Lowry, and I was wondering if anybody knows of any more authors like them.

I love the books by Gail Giles (What Happened to Cass McBride?) and Ellen Hopkins (Crank). Have you read Gathering Blue and The Messengers by Lois Lowry?

Well if you like George Orwell make sure you read 1984. You might also like something by Oscar Wilde (The Importance of Being Earnest), Kurt Vonnegut(Slaughterhouse-Five, or The Children's Crusade: A Duty-Dance With Death ), Aldous Huxley (A Brave New World, etc... all good books

Try 1984. It's also by George Orwell, and is responsible for several terms in our language such as "big brother", "thought police", etc.

I would suggest Franz Kafka or Aldous Huxley. Maybe even Vladimir Nabakov
