Just plain oats, with water and maybe a packet of splenda, heated up in the microwave. Is this bad or good for eating on a diet?

Great! Lots of fiber and good for the heart.

I'd try to stay away from articial sweeteners though if I were you. The jury's still out on whether or not they're healthy.

Oatmeal is wonderful for a diet. All that fiber fills you up, so you'll eat less of your other foods. Don't use splenda, though. Maybe some fresh fruit or raisins?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with oatmeal & toast for dinner. One of the best ways to be successful on any diet is to give in to cravings OCCASIONALLY - Don't feel guilty about it.

It is good for you but do not use the quick cooking kind. Use regular oatmeal that you cook up on the stove. It is very healthy for those on a diet.

That's a great idea. Lots of fiber so it fills you up, lowers your blood pressure and cholesterol. Instead of Splenda, try a little bit of honey (remember, a little goes a very long way).
