Oddly enough I fail to see the question here other than the generalized statement of what is wrong with americans, and unless you can articulate and construct that better in some way it will be answered in several different ways that may or may not be what you are looking for because you failed to be more speific. (with nothing left to work with I will address the blanket statement) Americans react to generalizations as any other mass of people would who share only one thing in common. I am aware reacting with such useless and undirected passion is childish, but I also think that picking apart such flaws (by the way, said flaws and reactions happen to everyone, not just americans as I said before) is just as condemable as committing them. Next time why don't you try : What's wrong with you blacks, or women, or Jews or Austrailians, or Christains or Musliums and see how people respond. America has it's faults, as does it's people and it's government, however I have yet to find a perfect organization of people or a perfect uncorruptable government. When I do I will be more willingly to consider you statment more than just useless whinning to rally people up on a message board.

The fact that you're blaming Americans for anything because of a real-life experience that you've had with one person tells volumes about your smarts, or lack thereof. I've met people from all over the world who were both cool, and jerks. But I never said any sort of blanket statement that applied to their country of origin because of their behavior.
I will address your concern politely when you decide not to paint an entire country with the same brush simply because of a bad experience that you had with one person from that country. Until then, you deserve everything thrown at you.
As for "Americans being above that". Hmmm....you've met all of us, have you? Or perhaps just a few that you've decided represents the entire country as a whole. Says a lot.

Americans tend not to think in the broader picture because most of us (yes, I am one of them) think that America is number one and nobody else matters.
I don't think this way but I see it from the corporations, the media, the celebrities and just the everyday person. I believe it's a horrible attitude but that is the way a great many people have now been raised and it's an atrocity. I think this is why we have such problems with other countries.
Another part of the problem is the annonmynity of the internet. No one can be accused of various small disputes and insults and people have lost some sensativity.

Part of the problem is that the internet removes people's faces. Something that would be hard to do when standing in front of the person, like insulting him, is easier when it's just a computer screen.
Another part of may be the way you phrase your questions - based on your experience with a few people, you seem to have concluded that all of them are like that.
Finally, remember that anybody can get a Yahoo! account, including people that aren't old enough to wash dishes for money. Some of your childish respondents may in fact be closer to being a child than you realize.

Firstly, I'm not American.
Secondly, I don't much like the American GOVERNMENT (different from not liking the people).
In this question you didn't actually say what the concern was that you had. In fact this question will just rile people up and get you no where...but maybe that is what you wanted.
Not ALL Americans on here are horrible, just as not all people from other countries on here are nice.
You need to be more specific about your concerns.

You may have come across to some that you may have been joking or just being curse.
No one really knows the reasons people post questions sometimes.
Then you just have flat out idiots saying anything because they can.
However, sometimes (and I am American born) we get alittle tired of being bigger than that when it comes to MANY immigrants, naturalized and other incoming cultures to america because they want a better life.
I have spoken with many cultures regarding their feelings. They thought everyone would hand them everything they would need. I am coming to your country I deserve money, jobs, living arrangements, my life my way, etc.
That doesn't happen as easy as one would seam. Pushing me out of my natural born life because you wanted to come here is not how I thought it was suppose to be. Of coars I am going to be upset.
I have been passed over job I was very qualified for because I was not latino or asian.
Its bad enough I am a women. I could go on too.
America stood for freedom and diversity, but when it comes to helping the same people that would push you out of your spot so they can move into it? doesn't feel right to me.

I think the problem is that most questions like that say "all Americans", and that's just plain rude. You can't judge everyone that is American. Plus, some people on this board just goes all out and say "Oh Americans are so stupid and fat and blah blah blah". It's hard to not get defensive. I don't but when they put the a phrase like "all Americans" in it, I get irate, and I'm not even going to lie! But I totally understand where you are coming from.

well Americans are a proud nation and they feel all other nations are below their level. They feel like that bcoz it is the richest country in the world. But being richest in material wealth is not important than being richest in humanity. Therefore they have to learn to respect other nations as well.
