Religion / spirituality does not "serve" culture. Wikipedia states, "Most generally, the term culture denotes whole product of an individual, group or society of intelligent beings. It includes technology, art, science, as well as moral systems and characteristic behaviors and habits of the selected intelligent entities. In particular, it has specific more detailed meanings in different domains of human activities."
This includes belief systems (religion / spirituality), history, art, music, technology, agriculture, customs, diet and a number of other aspects of life with a select group.
Religion is often the centerpiece of any culture, either developed or primitive. All other aspects of culture are usually dependent upon and subject to the most widely held belief systems.

Religion is dead! God wants a RELATIONSHIP with us. Religion is mans way to get to heaven by his works, and it cannot be done. True Christianity is the only "religion" that is not based on man being good enough to get to heaven, it is a free gift from the Father to all who accept it.
As far as the culture goes, live for truth and you'll never be out of place. I hope this helps.

Religion forms part of many people's lives and also forms part and sometimes identifies a culture.
Some people feel the need to believe there is something else and that their prayers are being listened to and will be answered.
Sometimes religion is the only thing that keeps people going.
It's the only thing that will give them hope and help them go through life and difficult moments.
I don't agree with those religions that take money off you, as they take advantage of people's vulnerability.

A lot of times it would make the difference of the actions of kids and teenagers.
On the one hand you could have well behaved children
On the other hand you could have little thugs, that rob, and steal, and hurt and kill ppl.
