All the time but i do pick and choose which ones. i also donate my time which i feel is just as important - like this weekend i will be door knocking for the Australian Red Cross. i also help raise money for them in other ways during the year. Another thing - donate magazines and old clothes/furniture to charity as they can sell these items to raise more money. Why? its a good feeling to help out those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

sure !! first ....of all there is no sense in throwing out perfectly good items just to fill up our landfills if someone else can use them.
second...... there are so many people who do work,but still can not afford to buy things and this is a way for the to buy.
third .......the place you donate too .pays employees,lights and gas,water etc to keep the building going,they usually provide service to the community such as work for people who have problems or provide food and shelter for the homeless etc....
fourth...its one more way of keeping our economy going.
probably more reasons than even I can thing of but the big ones are to be recycling and giving to charity

Not as freely anymore. I have been witness to some UGLY "donation" practices over the last few months, and I am a bit bitter. See my question regarding donations....

Yes, I donate to charities.
It is my responsibility to do so, as someone who is a somewhat educated, reasonably successful American. I believe strongly in the idea that much is expected of those to whom much is given.

Yes, I donate financially, and I also volunteer my time. It's important to get involved with your community in order to make a difference.
My favorite agency is my local volunteer center. They work with a wide variety of different agencies throughout the community and help them all build capacity and provide volunteer opportunities to the entire community.
