I'm undergoing drastic dietary changes and beginning to work out in an attempt to get in shape and drop some weight.
i'm young, but people say you should see a doc before doing this, and I was just wondering if any of you have...and what does the doctor do or say?
Do they ever prescribe any medicine? Nutrition advising?
Just wondering...

The primary reason you should see a doctor is for him or her to prescribe to you what is healthy for your body. For instance if you have extremely high blood pressure and attempt to do a heavy weightlifting workout, you could cause your body serious damage or even risk having a heart attack.

Similarly if you're at high risk for heart disease you wouldn't want to start out trying to run a marathon. The point is your doctor will be able to tell you where you are and where to start. Yes they can provide nutritional advice but more importantly they can tell you what state your health is currently in.

Doctors can also be very motivational. They might tell you that you need to walk 30 min a day or you'll be dead in 5 years. What more motivation would you need than that!? But also they can give you information on your health that you could use as measurements for your success. For instance if you only lose 5 pounds in the first 3 months, but your cholesterol and blood pressure have gone down significantly, and your lean muscle mass has increased dramatically, then that 5 pounds is a huge success, whereas you normally might think its a failure.

For all these reasons and many many more it is an extremely good idea to see your doctor before you work out.

a million, two, five, and six are usual. Vaginal discharge is ordinary, and can more often than not scale back as she a long time. Irregular durations are truthfully particularly usual, regardless of the hype, principally for any person that younger. Girls that age have a tendency to be thin... the frame fats does not seize as much as the peak instantly. And the widespread starvation is normal for any person whose frame fats is making an attempt to seize as much as her top. Although I have no idea why she has to visit the university nurse. Can you men now not percent her a few nutritious snacks? Or at 14 can she now not percent her possess snacks? three-four could also be simply typical formative years, however because you're so involved approximately her, I'm suspecting now not. They could also be concerning the opposite matters, or they could also be totally specific. The early youngster years are an excessively emotionally excessive time for youngsters... they're establishing to have the our bodies and emotions of adults with out the enjoy and competencies to manage with them. Some youngsters want extra aid, whether or not that aid betherapy or medication. So yeah, take her into the healthcare professional's workplace and speak approximately the problems she's been having. That's the excellent position to begin. It would be only a transient blip in an in any other case quality formative years, however it is higher to be riskless than sorry.

my doctor put me on a specific caloric intake and had me come in every two weeks to check my weight, blood pressure and general sense of well being. In two years, I lost 241 pounds! And now 15 years later, I still think it was the best decision I ever made, because I still keep the weight off.
The doctor not only monitored my progress, he taught me alot about my body, and referred me to a nutruitionist so I had the knowledge I needed to make the right nutritional choices.
