It's funny. But by definition that's what makes a protestant. They protest the pope.
However, these days many protestants look to the pope for moral guidance. Since so many of their leaders are caught, quite literally, with their pants down. Or making oodles of money while Jesus says we should be taking care of the poor.
If you don't plan on taking the faith, I wouldn't worry about it. If you do plan on taking the faith, be sure you pray about it and see where God leads you.

Is baptism necessary? Is obedience to God necessary? The Pope doesn't require baptism, Jesus does. Read the Bible. Be certain that you are protesting the right things. Christianity is NOT political, you NEED to have a real relationship with Jesus. You do. Not just your parents or your grandparents. Sounds like you have some study ahead of you. I would say 'work', but most protestants stop thinking when they hear that word. They don't recognize that works are an INDICATOR of salvation. Like a gas gage. Works don't save you, but they DO indicate where you're heading.

Baptism as a baby is not necessary.
The Pope has nothing to do with being a Protestant.
You need to do some research on these matters. You seem very troubled.
Take your Bible and look at John 3:16.

Totally. Protestants by definition aren't Catholics so the Pope becomes irrelevant.
There are many different flavors of Protestants from ultra-liberal to ultra-conservative and eventhing in between.
Good luck on your path,
Zimmi

A protestant is a christian who is not catholic. There are many many different protestant denominations, and many different beliefs between them. We are told to repent and be baptized (Acts 2:38)

You dont need a pope or priest to go to God for you;just open your mouth and talk to God yourself. You probably will want to go more towards Baptist or non denominational beliefs
