I have a cold. No congestion (yet), just the coughing.

It depends on you. What works on one person will not necessarily work on another person. I like NyQuil and Dayquil personally. When I was a kid my great grandfather used to take onions, slice them and put them in a bowl with sugar cover it and let it sit a few days and them serve us the syrup off of it. ( Throw away the onions). It always worked on us.

well the best cough medicine on the planet would be Morphine, but many ppl do not have easy access to that.

your next bet would be to get something that has the highest level of dextromethorphan in it. if you are looking at over the counter stuff, you can see it in the ingredients label. otherwise, talk to your doctor about it if you are looking for prescription strength. phenergan is probably the most likely target med that you would be prescribed

Vicks probably for adults. Works for me . . .I always have given the kids Dimmetap though, has a combination of cough and other cold symptoms and works wonders. The kids don't mind the taste either! (Grape or something of the sort)

why are you coughing. allergies,cold,smoking,bronchitis? best pure cough syrup is delsym, 12 hour formula, mucinex dm is good to quiet cough and expel excess phlem. most coughs are from post nasal drip, it is allergy season, see you local pharmacist.

I use Ricola Cough Drops. They are all natural and make them feel much better.
