If you're going to a destination in the city of Newark, it's probably easiest to take PATH, which runs directly from both Midtown and the WTC site twenty-four hours a day. If you want to get to Newark Airport, take NJ Transit and transfer to the Newark AirTrain.

If around midtown, Penn Station via NJ Transit. There are MANY trains that go into Newark from there.

If around Greenwich Village or along 6th Avenue, PATH is an option.

NJ Transit will get you there faster but PATH is cheaper so you'd have to weigh out which option works best for you.

The path train or NJ transit are the easiest. Either one is fast, but path is a little cheaper.
