One of my cats was attacked by another cat last year. She has completely recovered, but where she was injured it looks like dandruff on her fur. Should I take her to the vet?

She's a black cat, so it is very noticable. I've never noticed dandruff on a cat before!

Chances are it really is dandruff. The production of it may have been accelerated by injury to the skin and hair follicles, but I doubt it.

Give her a bath, and if it returns fairly quickly, you may want to look at some dietary supplements.

Omega 3 fatty acid capsules or liquid is good to put on their food now and then. Another consideration, is how much wet food are you feeding the cat? This contains more moisture, and surprisingly, many cats do not take in as much water as they should, so the wet food helps.

I tend to recommend a balance between wet and dry, because in recent years it has been discovered that dry chows are too high in carbohydrates and can lead to obesity.

If it looks like dandruff, it probably is :)
Lots of kitties have dandruff Hon. It's more noticeable of course on dark-colored cats.
If it really bothers you, you could try bathing her with a medicated shampoo, but it really won't harm her.

It probably is dandruff. My cat has had it before. An oatmeal based shampoo should help clear it up.
