It gives them a warm fuzzy feeling to wear the instrument of execution of their savior

Wow, sounds creepy when you say it that way ...

the kind of question that could spark a horde of troll questions featuring "If Rome had used lethal injection for executions would Christians be wearing X instead of crosses?"

Nah. They're not nearly as trendy. (Note: I'm using sarcasm.)

A cross is a pretty universal symbol, and so it ha to do with more than just Jesus' crucifixion. The fact that he was killed by crucification was also pretty significant.

But most people don't think about these things...it is just a trend. Sorry it offends you so much.

Many atheists talk approximately Christians believing in a fairy tale, nicely, it sort of feels to me that's what you're doing. Jesus died precisely because it replace into planned suited from the e book of Genesis. He lived a pleasing life and He died to maintain mankind from the dominion of darkness. while He died He suggested "it rather is finished". He chosen the 2nd of His death. We placed on a bypass no longer because of the fact we seem to His death as a failure or something undesirable as maximum deaths are to us, somewhat it rather is an accomplishment of God to maintain mankind. So, i'm no longer able to respond to your question on the grounds which you're no longer asking a fact question.
