Even though the book contains some scripture that is said to be inspired by God, since the book is actually a collection of books, taken as a whole, held a lot that wasn't, it is still a good read and people need to understand that though a book is not in the Bible it can still be a good read.

Of course we have to have "primoa" on here to give us the standard bigoted orthodox line of crap, i.e. "Proven to be not of God.....therefore, no room for heresy in the final canon of scripture."

To translate this into terms appreciable by the sane: "proved not to support the political agenda of the editors who compiled that 'canon.'" For a good discussion of the real criteria that went to establishing which books made the cut and for what reasons, read Elaine Pagels' "The Gnostic Gospels."
