Ok so my sister is looking for a car and she is really picky she can spend up to 18000 at this point she is about to buy a 2003 eclipse gts (which have a ton of mechanical problems and aren't safe at all) she doesn't like celica's, is300's, TTs, or 300zx's so those are out of the question. She wants as sports car so no suv's or anything. thanks for any suggestions.

I agree...the Eclipse is crap. Btw, who is paying for this car? If her parents are paying for it then she really can't be picky about what she wants. I think that she should really consider checking out the 2007 Honda Civic or Accord. They are nice looking and reliable cars. They get great gas mileage.

I am torn here, I know here is no way that anyone is going to influence her decision, because she's 16. If she wants to buy some lemon because it appeals to her then that's what she is going to do. What I fear is a sports car in the hands of a new driver, THAT scares the he** out of me.

Buy a good pair of walking shoes and peddle your spoiled *** around town for a month or two, then I bet "cuteness" would not be such an overwhelming factor.

Sounds like your sister is being a little picky. Heck, I wouldn't have cared if my 1st car was a used Yugo. Just anything to have a car of your own. Anyway....I also vote or the VW Cabriolet.
