I want to put the daughter of a family friend as my flower girl, but I fear that she's too old, can someone tell me what is the largest age I could go?

Flower girl age generally is from 2 to 10 yrs old, though the average is around 5. In my experience you dont want to go much younger than 4 for ringbearers and flowergirls though, as they are too distractable at that age.

Most people start moving them up from flower girl to junior bridesmaid around 8 yrs - 10 yrs old or so.

Its all a matter of what you want for your wedding. Either way the child in question can be included. :)

Depends... 10 is normally the cut off but if they are a large or small kid that also can make a difference. Like my cousin was always tiny for her age so she was flower girl in a couple of wedding but her sister was soo tall at age 10 she looked like a bridesmaid already!!

4 is a good age for it. My flower girl was 4 and she handled herself quite well the day of our wedding. I also had a junior bridesmaid that was 6 and they were both surprisingly good.

I'd say 10 give or take a year. If she very tall I'd make her a junior bridesmaid. If she is older than 10 but very small than I think she would be fine as a flower girl. but it is your day so pick whomever you want! congrats and best of luck.

I think you can have what you want. Any age is fine. I think it would look cute if you find a young flower girl to walk with the older one. Try that.

i'd say 9 or 10 is the oldest you should go.
If she's a little older them put her in a mini bridesmaid dress so she won't feel like a little girl in the white poofy dress.

I've been told up to 8 or 10 is fine. If she is older than that and you still want her in your wedding, maybe use her as your junior bridesmaid.

You may want to refer to a question that was posted yesterday about the age of the ring bearer.

You can put whoever you want in your wedding party. Dont conform to some society's standards. Its your wedding and you should share it with whoever you want not whoever is age appropriate.

Up to 10 years is fine! I think people go too far the other way - I think four is the absolute youngest, whereas some people have two year olds, which is just silly.

I was eight when I was a flower girl, don't go any older than 10, or just make her jr. bridesmaid
