Can anyone recommend a good infant float? My son is 6mo old and I live in Az, it's already getting hot and I want to take my son swimming. Wanted to know if any experienced parents could recommend a good sturdy reliable float. Something that he will be able to have good balance in. And add where you bought it or any links. Just thought I'd ask before I go out and buy one. Thanks...

Critter, That's such a good idea, a life jacket! Duh, I feel kinda dumb I didn't think of it. That's what Y answers is for though, thanks!

Oh...I miss playing with the kids in the pool when we lived in Tucson. I'd suggest looking into a real boating life jacket. They're designed to keep a child's head out of the water if they end up in the water alone.

I sure was glad my 2 year old had one on when the hand rail pulled out of the wall as she was getting into the pool. The wave of it falling pushed her off the steps and it took me a few seconds (felt like an hour) to get to her. But the life jacket I'd just strapped her in brought her up to the surface and kept her face out of the water until I got there.

You never know what's going to happen in that half a second your back is turned. No floatation device is supposed to be used alone but a real life jacket gives you a little bit more support and time in case something does happen than any of the more commonly available floaties.

Hey. I'm in AZ too. And yes, it sure it hot!!! We use thing one thing that the baby sits in the middle and all around is a mesh sort of thing. It supported our daughter very well. We got it at Target, but I don't know what it was called. It even has a sun shade.
