"Each person you come to is a different mirror. And since you're just another person like them, maybe you're just another mirror, too, and there's no way of ever knowing whether your own view of yourself is just another distortion. Maybe all you ever see is reflections. Maybe mirrors are all you ever get."

Everybody is a mirror, they hold their thoughts inside of them, maybe not the thoughts that everyone knows but the secret thoughts no one, not even the best friend knows. And everyone has them so maybe you are just a reflection amongst a few million people that have something but nobody knows it.
Thats probably more confusing.

Its a bit pretentious but what its basically saying as I read it is that you never really know yourself except from how others see you, yet those perceptions are only reflections of your external appearance. And by that I don't mean just your physcial appearance, but how you choose to act and how you act as well.

Additionally you can't look to others for understanding of yourself, because they only see what you have shown them. And vice versa.

Each person that you come into is a different reflection of yourself you probably see yourself in them. Whoever you see is probably just another reflection of yourself.

to me this quote means that everyone you meet is a reflection of your self and that everyone has at least one thing in common. when you hang out with certian people, you act differently with each person. for instance when you are with your parents, you act one way and when you are out with your friends, you act different than you do when you are around your parents. each person you spend time with is a reflection of the real you.
