I have a sharp pain on the right side of my throat, more where the tougue ends and throat begins. I did feel some small bumps back there but it feels sharp like it could cut me or if a needle were there.

What could be causing this? I have no other cold symptoms so far.

go to the dr and have them do an x-ray. the flippers they make today are not supposed to be able to be swallowed, though.

well, there is a chance you are allergic to the materials in the flipper and it is causing that. sometimes you will have an allergic reaction and it will subside, too. some of them they put mercury in to get that pink color.

Allergic patients have been using Valplast® restorations for more than fifty years with an incredibly low reaction rate. Valplast® is a thermoplastic nylon which contains no acrylic monomer and a completely metal free coloring agent, making it an excellent choice for patients who suffer allergic reactions to acrylic and metal dental materials. Contact them if you would like a sample chip of Valplast® resin to test for reactivity.

I would consult an ENT (ear, nose and throat doctor) rather than a family doc on this one.
