If you go to www://fitday .com and keep a daily log of food intake and physical activities it will work it all out for you.
I find it very useful and all you really need is this free site. Good luck.

The unfortunate answer is not many. A lot of people have the notion that they want to get a six pack so they lie down and start doing dozens of crunches. The abdominals are a relatively small set of muscles and thus working on them exclusively doesn't burn many calories. Worse, people often become discouraged because they do sit ups for a month and freak out when they are gaining inches on their waist!

The problem is that without cardio the layer of fat around their abs stays put and muscle develops underneath it. This can result in a person's waist line actually becoming bigger. In order to visually see your abs you must be below 10% body fat, and to obtain that you must do cardio.

Once you get below 10% body fat, or if you're already there, then sit ups are great because they can make the muscles in the abdominal region "pop", giving the "6-pack" look. Until then, don't worry about burning calories with sit ups. Instead do cardio workouts, and if you enjoy weight lifting stick to full body workouts that burn more calories and fat.
