I tell her(Chelsea) to come sit, and she sits in front of me, then I say Chelsea come and i move my left leg behind me, she then sits to my left side, I move my left leg back as normal, then I give her a treat and praise. The question is, if she is not sitting perfectly straight forward at my left side do I still treat and praise? Sometimes she is sitting at a slight angle.

Since it sounds like your dog knows the commands but is sloppy, I would stop rewarding each exercise. If it looks like she is going to sit crooked, don't let her sit first and then correct or move her...tap her butt, you back up to make her keep moving...and PRAISE when she's in the right spot.

Dogs don't understand angles- you can try showing her the treat and moving it closer to your body to get her to snuggle up tighter, but I would say definitely praise her even if she's not exactly where you want her. The important thing is she's at your side, she sits down, and she's watching you for a command.

I'll even soften Melissa's answer. If you want to compete and would be perfectly happy with 3 scores of 171 go ahead & reward the croocked sit. If your going for the 195 guide Chelsea into a STRAIT sit & only reward that.

That depends - do you plan on doing obedience competitions with her? If so, she should only be rewarded for perfect positioning. If you don't plan to compete, then it's all a matter of what you prefer. If you are okay with angled sits (I can't think of any practical reason that she would have to be stick straight), reward them!

She is in the general vacinity, so yes, praise and treat. Once she gets the general area down, then you can fine tune it.

However, when you move your leg behind you (and want her to heel) you need to use the command "HEEL"

The "heel" command is taught as a Walk To Heel exercise. No sitting -- walking! Get moving :-)
