On puppies that young, I would only use a flea comb (or nit comb) which you can find at grocer's, pet supply shops, or drug stores. Comb through the coat and dip in water to rinse, and comb again. It is tedious, but effective, until the pups are older. If you use anything that has a fragrance, such as dish soap, it may upset mom, and cause her to reject certain pups, just when they really need her to keep licking them and nursing.
You CAN use a spot-on application for mom dog, that you can get at the vet's, such as Revolution..This will help puppies and mom both..but don't use anything from the store, only the vet's office, with clear safety for nursing mom's.
You can also use the flea trap lights, available at WalMart or any pet supply. The fleas will seek the light during the night, and it will reduce the population..

Dawn dishwashing soap and a flea comb. Don't get it in their eyes or mouths. Scrub them down, and comb through for fleas while they're still sudsy, then rinse well, dry, and comb again.
You cannot use any product for fleas on a dog less than 8 weeks old, including spot-on treatments, powders, and shampoos.
You also cannot flea bathe a nursing mother, as someone said. She can absorb chemicals into her skin which the puppies can then ingest while nursing. I would call a vet, you should be able to use Frontline or something on her, but not flea shampoo. If nothing else just bathe her with Dawn too.

puppy shampoo and a flee comb only. make sure mom is done too. Take them out of the house and bomb the whole house don't come back until safe for pups. they are more delicate than you so if it says 4 hours wait 8 or go back and open windows in 4 and bring back pups in 8. use a flee trap that has a light and sticky paper. Do not use any flee product. It will kill the puppy. Please......I beg of you do not use a flee product. other than the bomb and get the pups out of the house. if you can wipe any surfaces after bombing.

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.

There are puppy shampoos safe enough for 3 week olds. Also you must shampoo the mama with the same puppy shampoo and rinse her well. Also you must treat/replace her kennel/bedding and treat your yard. If you have neighbors, ask them to treat their yards as well, or just heavily treat your fence borders.
