Have you ever had to churn butter. It takes forever and there are some very good butters on the market today. Try the ones that say no salt added for the home churned taste. I've not noticed any lack of butter milk in the local grocery stores around my part of the country. Central Texas.

Buttermilk can still be had from most stores. If yours stopped carrying it, ask the store manager to get some for you. The dairy that supplies them will still be able to sell it.
