You are right, here is my scripture to prove it.
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.
(New Testament | John 20:17)
How much clearer than this.

Well, yes and no. In many cases in the bible, Jesus shares parables, and gives responses that address us as his brothers and sisters ("my true family"), as well as God's children (the prodigal son). But, the bible also tells us that God sees us as his close friends. What the bible is saying in these cases, is that we are accepted by God in these ways, despite the fact that we are very underserving of this. It is not meaning that he is indeed our biological father, but instead our adopted father. And our adoption comes from His Grace, when we are willing to say we have done wrong, and want to turn from that. If you don't think this is powerful, try getting caught speeding sometime (really bad), and ask the judge to drop all the charges and fines because you are sorry. This is a powerful adoption.

Jesus is not one of us because he died on the cross for our sin's. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. God is my Father and we are God's son's and daughter's if we choose to believe in Him. At one time Jesus was human. But we are to pray to God through Jesus like this "in Jesus name". So that is why we are not sharing the same path as Jesus.

You are correct. We are all adopted into the Family of God with God as our Father, Jesus Christ our Elder Brother, Savior, and the Holy Spirit, as our Comforter and guide. The SON of MAN (Jesus) came to show us the "Father" because we were unable to 'see' Him in that man had greatly sinned. Jesus did not want us to be ignorant concerning our Father and his characteristics. Jesus is the Father's WORD made flesh and who dwelt among us, teaching, preaching, healing all those who were sick and then the last enemy ...death, had to be conquered. Pure love who had committed no sin, had to die in order to MAKE A SHOW OF THE DEVIL OPENLY. He had to show man that we don't have to be afraid of the last enemy - which is death - because when he rose, he overcame death and we, too shall rise again, thus overcoming death. The fact that we have been given 3 parts (just as God is in three parts), we are SPIRITAL BEINGS FIRST, we POSSESS A SOUL (our intellect, thoughts, feelings...) and we LIVE IN A BODY. (the body must go so that the intellect and spiritual parts can come together. And then on that apointed day, Jesus will return and call for his children - brothers and sisters who died in him first, and the rest who remain will be CHANGED first, then caught up to meet Jesus in the AIR. We shall all have new bodies and be as though he first made us. (I am just stupid enough to believe that we will be able to transport, make things move around at the 'thought'), Halleluah!

God created everything, and all humans therefore can rightly refer to him as Father. The Bible provides a lineage (I think its in Luke 3) from Adam to Jesus, and it calls Adam a "son of God". Since God created Adam, He is his Father. Any inventor will cosign to that. Jesus was created directly by God in the beginning, before anything else, which is why he's God's "only-begotten son". He spoke correctly by referring to God as "our Father" because he is responsible directly and indirectly for all of our existence.

We have the opportunity to be children of God brought forth through faith. Jesus is the only begotten Son of God.

The Spirit Himself testifies with our Spirit that we are God's children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in His suffering in order that we may also share in His glory. (Romans 8:16-17)
Don't be confused, although Jesus is the Son of God, He is also God, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus as a jew used the jewish way to call God as "my father" because he created the first human being. There are hebrew names like "Aviel"= El is my father, and "Bat-El" daughter of El, etc. look also in psalms 2,7
"you (david) are my son, today i have begotten you"

That means we are one of him. God has seen our suffering and has opened his heart to us. He loves us so much that he sends his Son for us. As creations of God we are children of God, and now we have salvation through Jesus.
