He is referring to the fact that once you are saved, having being baptized, you can fall away and lose your salvation. You must live faithfully unto the end.
Basically, he is stating that the idea of "once saved, always saved" is false.

Jesus' words rule out the "once saved, always saved" idea.
Only those who endure persecution or trials until the end comes, will be saved and receive everlasting life, either in heaven or here on earth. All true Christians must undergo some sort of persecution and hatred. Jesus said this would happen to his followers, especially in these "last days"
We must have faith along with works and follow the good examples of Jesus and his faithful apostles.

Y: This statement is relative in nature since the question arises, who is the "He" applying to? Does this mean that the ones following Christ at that time would not be "saved" because he or she would not be around [alive] until the "end" ? Or, is Jesus addressing the generation of Christians present during the last days of the last days ?
P.S. "Pastor Y" go easy on the Baptists. God has not revealed the entire understanding of the Holy Bible to all the various, Christian churches. No one can claim that he or she has the "corner" on understanding the entire Holy Bible. God has arranged the churches in the "body" of Jesus Christ as He has chosen to do so, at His satisfaction. Can the "foot" say to the "head" you are not necessary, therefore, irrelevant ? (see: First Book of Corinthians, 12th chapter, verse 16). Who are you to misjudge your brother ? I am not a baptist - if you disagree with them, don't attack them, attack the issue presented by them.

Who cares what he said? He was just a gay hippy after all and couldn't keep his job as a joiner, so after lazing around on social security for a while, he and his 12 homo pals decided that they'd go the Tony Robbins route and start doing a lot of bullsh.it pep talks out in the open. The poor sod didn't realise what he was getting himself into though when he pis.sed off those Romans and it would have been magic to see him getting nailed to that cross! Where's God now , eh, Christie my son? Ooh, that had to hurt.

The Baptists are what's incorrect with Chrisitianity interior the U. S. correct now. And by ability of Baptists i certainly mean any fundamentalist obtainable who thinks the Bible would desire to be interpreted actually. those styles of persons make Christians look undesirable. they're people who've been attempting to bypass the boundary of church and state. they're people who persistently attempt to inject supernatural silliness into the technology college room. they're people who fee servitude and lack of know-how over interest and documents. they could no longer be evil, yet their strikes are unquestionably. they're the yank version of the fundamentalist Muslims in nature (apart from the particular violence area).

The context of that statement is about great tribulation that would befall the earth. Many people in that time would be tempted to renounce their faith because of the societal difficulties of the time, but Christ was reminding them to stay strong and not abandon their pursuit of God.
As to the sarcasm of your question, Baptists are just like every other denomination out there - trying to ;live out the message of Jesus. Sometimes we do well, sometimes we don't. At least we try.

The Word of God endureth forever - and he who abides by it to the end will be saved.
The Bible says that all who received the Word (the Gospel) will be tested by Satan and his demons for our unswerving faithfulness, and if we can overcome them we will receive Eternal life.
But if you have received false doctrines - Satan will be laughing because you are already condemned for trusting in them, unless you return to the true gospel.
That is the reason Satan goes after weak prideful pastors and use them to spread the wrong gospel.
Do not lash out at Christianity unles you know the truth - maybe 90 percent of so called Christian churches may be living under Satan's control.
The Bible said Satan will masquerade as the angel of light ( look at Allah, Angel Moroni, Buddha, Jones town, JH,Brahma,
and many many many more false religions and beliefs.

In this lifetime if a man can be righteous to the end is deserving of salvation but only Jesus and the Kings in the Melchezedek order did so, therefore his blood was shed.

Christians are saved by faith. It is by faith we say that we are new creatures as we have yet to die and are still in our flesh in a sinful world. It is by faith we say we the old man of sin is dead wiht Christ and resurrected with him in glory as we have not yet died and been resurrected. He who endures to the end is truly saved.
