I do not know anything abput points, so I will tell you how I did it.

I lost 75 lbs in 6 months by watching my intake and monitoring my output.

3500 = 1 pound

100 calories are burned with every 10 minutes of fast excerise.

I wanted to lose weight so I knew that I had to decrease my caloric intake and excerise as much as possible. Elliptical and weight training.

So first I brought this calorie book (link listed below) it has the calories of just about any food you can think of including most national fast food chains.

I decided to go on a 1800 calorie a day diet after discussing it with my doctor.. I just took that little book everywhere I went and made sure I did not exceed 1800 a day and made sure I burned off at least 500 calories 3 times a week. The book made it a million times easier because I was much more aware of what was going in my body.

Good Luck and remember the first two weeks are the hardest, get through that and its really easy to do from then on! :-)

I am currently on WW and have lost 11 pounds in 10 weeks. Your points are based on several factors. Current weight, height, age, and activity level. For example, if you are a 30 year old woman, weigh 200 lbs, and are 5'5 tall, and mailny sit during the day, your daily points is 25. I was like you, i really didn't want to spend the money and take the time to go to meetings but I desperatley needed to ose weight. I was skeptical that I wouldn't lose weight. I am so glad that I was wrong. I have currently lost 11 pounds and have two weeks left in the program. I will most likely sign up again. My best advice - just do it.

I used Weight Watchers online for a while and found that it wasn't telling me anything I didn't already know. However, it definitely helped me put into perspective food choices and adding activity to my regimen. I use www.fitday.com to log my food and it's free. It will give you a break-down, graphs and reports for your caloric intake, fat, carbohydrates, protein and alcohol. You can read up on what percentages of each are good for your frame/height/weight, etc. It also has a place to log activities and a journal to keep track of your feelings about food/exercise. It has helped me stay on track amidst all the crazy choices out there! You can also try Discovery Health's free National Body Challenge 2007 or Self Magazine's Body Challenge. Both are free and include recipes, articles and helpful tips. Good luck!

I have heard people say that they go on line to WW and get information for free. They say that you don't get the book or diary to document. Worth a try. Good luck!
