I think they do....they just don't show it. But still-- most men are more secure than women though. Women are so much more insecure today because of all the messages that say we have to look a certain way..ie (big boobs/a$$ on a stick body). Men don't really have that expectation as much. So women always think that a man wants better than her...even though they probably don't. Men usually like themselves a lot more and are confident that a woman will stay with them...My bf gets jealous. It makes me feel good. I still look at other guys and wonder about them...but he looks at other girls. SO i guess we have an understanding that we can both look...and the jealousy that that sparks in each of us keeps us together because if he's jealous that shows to me that he wants me and vice versa!

...I'm a man darling...and I sometimes DO get jealous. I try not to hurt other people with it alternatively. It's controlling your own jealousy that is the trick honey. Most guys just try not to show it too much...that's all. Women get jealous too seriously. I just think women are more revengeful when they do become jealous...that's all. We might get spiteful and verbal about it darling...but usually we don't act out on our jealousy seriously. We might get a little bit wimpy about it...but hopefully not abusive with it. When jealousy becomes painful for you considerably?...then it's time to ask yourself a few questions reasonably. Jealousy is a bad and addictive habit for some people darling. Avoid these people like the plague hun. They're poisoned mentally otherwise. Good luck sweetie. Let's hope you get what you wanted from this reasonably.

Sorry, open forum...anyone can reply.
Men and women are wired differently...men tend not to be as insecure as women, thus when another guy looks at their partner, they'll often think it's kewl rather than be jealous.
Women, on the other hand, see another chick as competition trying to steal "their man" and so will often get scared or angry.
I think it goes back to our ancient roots when females searched for a suitable provider and father for their babies...the male could spread his seed all around and therefore wasn't all that picky about where he did it...the female sought out a particular quality of male to father her kids, and thus felt the need to fight to keep him if he was a "good one".
Nowadays it's not so much the procreation thing, but women still feel the need to fight for their men (often) and guys know there are MANY women out there to as much as they may dig the one they are with, there are many others out there if something should happen and they lose this one.

It either a) secretly bothers him, but he doesn't want to freak out the girl, b) doesn't bother him because he's sure she catches him staring at other women. There's no way for us to show jealousy in a way that doesn't make us look overprotective.

You haven't met many men.
Men are just as equipped to be jealous as women. I have certainly had bouts of mild jealousy.
It's possible that either you're overly jealous and you're wondering why your bf isn't as jealous, or he hides it.
In any case, your question is moot.

i think the problem is more when another guy looks at the girl not the other way around. I'm not exactly sure why not its just how the male works.

Not all guys are that way. Why would you want to make someone you care about jealous?
