Regardless, I dont think anyone likes a cheapskate. But I would hope women would prefer sincere caring rather then "things". Look around you though - there are plenty of selfish folks out there. Male and female.

Actions are louder than words. It has nothing to do with quantity of money spent, but emotions invested and good intentions, no matter how simple or extravagant. Sometimes the most cherished things, and the things that have very little monetary value.

I would rather have one that really shows me he cares. Too often if a guy keeps wanting to spend money on me it makes me feel like he is trying to buy me. I cannot stand that.

Typically we spend money to make you happy. If we think giving you a gift for no reason will make you smile, we'll do it as often as we can.
But guys also love a girl who doesn't expect gifts. Girls who offer to pay their own at movies, who constantly say "you don't have to buy me anything." The thing is, we still will pay for you, it just shows us that you like us for more than the free swag.

it is a societal rule that at first men just spend money on dates... however once in a relationship money should no longer be an issue. my boyfriend and i split up our dates... one night he pays, the other i pay. i would preffer a guy who shows he cares not just spends money... however a little of both is the best.

The person who knows the answer to your question is the guy who was buying the bar girls drinks. Therefore, say to him, I want to know why you were spending so much money buying drinks for bar girls? We know that he was a big spender. In order for guys to chit chat with bar girls, he has to buy them drinks. That's how clubs make money. Perhaps he was a talkative guy
