Yes I've noticed that on here, I have never fancied towing a caravan about, they never look safe to me!
I prefer a caravan (sited) to a hotel rip off any time.
I can see the attraction in hooking up and driving off whenever the mood takes you, just the towing it that puts me off.
We have some really great sites in UK, in fact there are fantastic site all over the EU.
I have always been a contract worker and whenever possible I would rent a sited caravan rather than go in digs, or hotels, far better class of people on the sites.
I have been in USA on holidays a few times and always had a little dream in the back of my mind of ending up in a holiday park in a residential trailer park, around Florida area. Never actually checked one out but the idea was always there.
We have a lot of Americans on this Yahoo thing and they have really put me off ' trailer parks ' !
Shattered my little dream world in fact!!
I have checked some USA sites out on the web and cant find a good name for them, the sites I have looked at appear like the old style 'tinker' sites that we used to have in the UK!
Surely they must have some good residential sites near the coast in America??
However back to your question , the folk complaining will most likely complain about every thing!
I like the idea, I do at times almost cra* myself when I see some of these little caravans swaying about in the road in front of me, but I give them a wide berth, live and let live is a good motto, enjoy your free time , try not to sway about in front of me, I dont drive a little ,blue bottle thing'!!.

Maybe their own lives as too sad to contemplate.
Therefore they try to pull other peoples way of enjoyment to bits.
